Versa 2 stopped working after getting wet

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa 2 isn't charging after getting wet. I put it in some rice room dry out as I noticed some moisture in the 4 contact windows. Moisture is gone now. I even cleaned the contacts, but it's still not charging. It won't even vibrate when initially plugged in. I got it to turn on last night while plugged in and thought I was in the clear but it charged overnight and still reflected 0 battery in the am. So I cleaned the contacts again. Still nothing.

Hi @Jeepchic83 - don't rush the process of drying - it could take a week to fully dry in the rice.

If when you put it on charge it gets hot, stop immediately because it's dangerous, and if you missed that check both watch and charger for damage.

If you did a factory reset which failed the most you may get is 0% when flat and a blank screen when not flat.

You can chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support.

If it's still under warranty, 1-2 years depending on country law, the quickest solution is to take it back to where you got it for replacement [possibly over the counter].

Hi there, @Jeepchic83. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from. @Guy_ Thank you so much for your help!

If your watch got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.

If you did follow the tips and recommendations shared above but to no avail, the best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. Click here to get connected.

@Guy_ I don't recall it ever getting hot at any point after it got wet, even when connected to the charger. Unfortunately, I'm here in the states and it's been 2 years since I've gotten it. I actually got it for free as part of a work wellness incentive program so there wouldn't be a retailer for me to even take it to anyway. Thanks for the info though. I'll continue to let it sit in the rice for a bit more and go from there.
