Versa 2 stopped working after getting wet

My versa 2 screen suddenly went blank and will not turn on.

I took my daughter swimming yesterday but I hardly got my watch wet and the screen went black post this and will now not turn on, while charging the fitbit sign will flash up but that is all.

I have tried the rice trick.

This happened to anyone else and what did you do?

Hi there, @Henel3129. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with the Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Please note Versa 2 is water-ressistant to 50 meters. However, water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

  • Dropping the device.
  • Exposing the device to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, or sunscreen.
  • Exposing the device to high-velocity water (for example, during water sports).

If the watch got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.

If the watch is still not responding after taking the above into consideration, the best way to get help for this problem is to chat with us online or give us a call. Click here to get connected.

Hope that helps.

Hello. My versa 2 stopped working today. Black screen and won’t charge. I’ve tried your above suggestions, cleaning & drying it. I also tried holding down the side button hoping to force start the watch. Hope you can help as I do not have an email contact for Fitbit. Thanking you in advance.
