Versa 2 stopped working after getting wet

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I went swimming at the beach yesterday like normal, and the watch was working just fine.

After about 30 minutes of being out of the sea, my versa 2 stopped working completely.

I have tried drying it, putting it on charge and nothing. It just flashes the logo. Reset is not working either.

I can't afford a new one, and this one

Hi there, @Bec02. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, for the troubleshooting steps you've tried, and for the image attached. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 is still unresponsive. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If your watch got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. If your watch has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser (like Cetaphil) and dry it with a lint free-cloth. Be sure to follow our Wear and Care instructions to keep your device clean.

Water resistance may diminish over time and can be negatively impacted by any of the following:

  • Dropping the device.
  • Exposing the device to soaps, shampoos, conditioners, perfume, insect repellent, lotions, or sunscreen.
  • Exposing the device to high-velocity water (for example, during water sports).

If you've done the above but to no avail, may I know if your Versa 2 vibrated during the restart process? If it didn't, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.
