Versa 2 stopped working after swimming with it

I have now inadvertently taken my versa2 swimming. The first one was 15 months ago and it stopped immediately. After much hassle the retailer provide a replacement. Today I again inadvertently took it into the pool for about 2 minutes before I realised it and agin it has stopped working. The website about water resistance is misleading.

Hi there, @AussiePedro. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. It's sad to hear that your Versa 2 devices have stopped working after getting wet. I understand where your concern is coming from, we‘re taking your comments in regards to our products into consideration. I will do my best to help you with this.

If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, may I know if your Versa 2 vibrated during the restart process? If it didn't, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

I have tried all your suggestions. The device hasn't vibrated. I
momentarily got a display of the battery with an exclamation mark. Sorry
but no way are these watches waterproof. I had a spare device which works
perfectly , until I inadvertently get it wet.
I am using a spare device and won't be taking it into any water as I don't
believe they are waterproof and a caution should be posted on your website
I am still trying to charge the old watch. The only reaction is the watch
gets very hot and no charge is taken Thanks
