I have my Versa 2 for less than a year. It was purchased as a Christmas gift in 2021. I took it swimming for the first time last week and it worked for about 10 minutes during my swim. By the time I got out it had a black screen. It was at 70% battery charge when I got in the pool. So I knew it wasn't a charging issue. I messaged support who told me to clean the contacts and try charging it. I knew it wouldn't fix the problem but I tried it anyway. 10 minutes in to charging it the unit was so hot I couldn't even touch it. Needless to say it's dead and has been ever since going in the water. For a unit that is supposed to be water resistant a short 20 minute swim in the pool shouldn't kill it. I've seen a lot of posts with the same issue. Has anyone found an alternative unit? This is actually my second Fitbit to die. I had the original Versa and the heart monitor stopped working after a year.
