This problem happens more and more frequently. Where the versa 2 simply does not respond to my touch.
My normal workaround is to hold the button until it restarts. After several restarts it will allow hyperslow scrolling. After that it will crash before I can get to the about screen. After the crash I can usually scroll to the about screen and then do a shutdown. After a shutdown it will work normally for awhile before repeating. I waste about 10 minutes for this precedure.
i have tried a factory reset -and only using the factory default click face, apps and settings. But the problem just keeps happening more frequently. A smart watch that would respond to me is not very smart.

hi, I got my versa2 for Christmas 2019, and in about February mine started doing the same thing that everyone else's seems to be doing. So what I finally tried after coming here and trying everyone else's hacks was to take it off of the wrist flick screen on ability and just use the button to make the screen come on. It's been a couple of weeks now and my screen is working perfectly fine, I can scroll and answer/dismiss calls and everything. So give this a try.

I’m having this issue too. This is now my 4th Fitbit device and they have all stopped responding to touch controls within 12 months of getting them. I’m done with these shoddy devices. Sick of them breaking down on me.

I've been experiencing the same thing with mine as well. I've restarted it multiple times; done the factory reset then uninstall/reinstall the app and it still intermittently does not react to touch. As well, it quite frequently displays the Fitbit logo randomly throughout the day. It still tracks my steps but I can no longer map my walk/run or track specific exercise.
I can't seem to be able to start my own thread - sorry to piggy-back on yours!

After purchasing 2x fitbit versa 2 in December 2019 as a Christmas gift between my wife and I, we have had nothing but problems. Both of them have already been replaced with new devices by fitbit support for this exact issue. Now after just under 9 weeks, my new replacement is already doing the same thing. Tracks steps, sleep, exercise (with auto-detect), and heart rate, but sadly has stopped responding to touch. I have no apps, play no music, am using the default display, have never submerged it in water, and clean it weekly. After the first time it happened on the new replacement, I performed a hard reset it and it started working for a few days before the issue came back. Then I factory reset, same thing. Removed / Re-Added the device per support and it doesnt help. Now this morning, even the hard reset, factory reset, and other troubleshooting steps do nothing to fix the problem. Still this dumpster fire of a device still has issues, major hardware/software issues. My wife went through 6 versa trackers from Dec 2018 through us buying these versa2's in Dec 2019. At this point, I will be looking else where for a fitness tracker, fitbit quality control is non-existent and their standard support model is just to send you a new or refurbished device which will break in 2-3 months. This sounds like a great business plan!!!!

My watch has been affected and now it appears to be in a permanent reboot state. Horrible software. I've had it for less than 6 months which was bought as a replacement for another that failed right at the two year mark. This is my 4th Fitbit and once it's done, I'm done. 6 and half years of software and hardware issues means it's time to go to another brand.

I have recently incurred the same issue. For the past couple of days (early in the morning) my Fitbit acts really weird. Almost like it's restarting on it's on. Then it will not respond to touch. Now it won't even restart. I'm going to call Fitbit, but I'm wondering if I should get another Fitbit. I don't have an iPhone, but wondering if I should get something by Samsung. Will see what Fitbit says.

Right when I thought I was going to get my mom one too, my Fitbit is now completely unresponsive 😫and doesn't wake on the charger either 😒. So it is time to find a better quality fitness tracker that will last past 1 to 2 years. I have heard great things about Samsung and want to possibly get their Galaxy Active Watch 2 for both me and my mom. I'm just sad that all the years of data I have will be lost.

Several time per day versa 2 screen goes blank and screen won’t turn back on for touch, side button, connect to charger or synch. Eventually hours later in some cases it starts working again. Flakey software.

I know. I've sent mines in and they are stating that they will provide me options when they receive it. I mean, it should be simple with a replacement or money back. I'm not understanding why I've had to be without a tracker. It makes me want to go with another brand. Currently looking into Samsung and Misfit.
