Please help - my Versa 2 Fitbit is stuck on an endless reboot loop and cannot be stopped or restarted. Any advice would be great. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened to the watch. Do I need a replacement? Thanks!

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Debzo1221!
Sad to hear that your Versa 2 isn't working as expected. I'd suggest trying to restart your device by holding it's button for around 10 seconds until the display goes blank and then shows the Fitbit logo.
If that won't work for you I'd suggest letting the battery on your Versa 2 run down until your device is off. After that give it a full charge. Please make sure that the provided power source, the charging contacts on your device and the charging pins on your charging adapter are OK. If your device won't charge, this might be helpful:
Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi there, @Debzo1221. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2.
If the steps provided by @Talahthas don't work, please try the following:
With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 2 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

I'm having the same issue and none of the steps worked. Now my fitbit is deleted from my app and I can't get it back because my Versa 2 won't turn on (have an Android phone btw) 😒

Thanks for the assistance. It did start working again randomly the next day, but a couple days ago the same thing happened, and despite trying all of the above advice, my Versa 2 won’t even power on anymore, even after charging it. What are the next steps I can take?

Hi, I have followed your steps MANY times over the last few hours. I've even deleted the Fitbit app then shut down my iphone. Re-installed the app and logged in using my Google account.
My iPhone's Bluetooth now cannot find my Versa 2 at all after following your steps.
I have done all your steps in order yet my Versa 2 is still in this boot loop.
Feeling very frustrated.

Did you get this issue resolved ?

Did FitBit push out an update or something? Mine has started doing this today too. It has rebooted several times today while on my wrist - I thought it was vibrating because it wasn't sensing my heart rate, but then I realized it is turning itself off and on. A couple times, I have had to hold down the button to get it to turn back on.
Also worth noting I am also an Android user. Someone else mentioned that they are an Android user as well. FitBit updated yesterday - is there a bug in the app causing the reboot?

No, the Fitbit is completely dead. I can’t even charge it, and I’ve tried everything.
How did you finally get a return label sent to you? I feel like no one in customer service is taking my issue seriously.

Mine rebooted off and on all day again today. Sometimes it would be fine for a little bit.
I was in the app tonight and noticed there was a firmware update (that wasn't there yesterday) for the Versa 2, but the problem is the FitBit is now in a loop of "logo for 8 seconds, black screen for 2 to 3, then back to logo" so my phone can't find the device to connect and install the firmware update.

If I remember correctly, I somehow got a person on the phone and explained what happened. He asked more questions, when through a couple of processes to verify it was indeed not working, and told me I'd be receiving an email with return instructions. The instructions are very detailed and specific, and you need receipt what device you plug into to charge, and more, with a handwritten note with specific items, then you send, and they communicate back with return label. I am still waiting my replacement, and communication that it has even been shipped.

Same thing for me. It fully lost a charge yesterday, but it on the charger after work, got a full charge. It turned on, but some time last night it started doing the same thing with the reboot loop.
I have tried all of the steps to get it to work, but I have also been in contact with customer support for my Versa 2.

@MarreFitbit @JuanFitbit - here's what mine is still doing at this point:
1. I fully charged it this morning.
2. I am on Wifi with my FitBit and my Samsung S22 (Android operating system). FitBit app updated a few days ago. Issues with Versa 2 started the next day for me.
3. It says the firmware version I am currently running is 35.72.1.23. It says there is a firmware update. However, I have tried to install the firmware update several times and this is what is happening:
- phone connects to Versa and starts the download. Versa 2 screen gets shimmery FitBit logo, then whole screen goes green.
- phone says installation is in process and it can take up to 20 minutes, so don't leave the page. Versa 2 shows FitBit logo and screen goes green from edge just to first dot of the logo. Versa 2 stays like this for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Versa 2 whole screen goes green again for a second and vibrates, then boots up with watch face. Phone says installing, then syncing, then tells me that update failed.
I have tried the update over WiFi and over Bluetooth. Neither works.

If it's still within warranty and you have receipt, call the Fitbit support #
but still waiting on replacement.

It's not still under warranty, but to me this is very clear that all of these Versa 2s having the same issue at the same time is a clear sign that FitBit has some kind of a bug that they need to fix. And if they can't fix it, they'd better replace it for free.

I ended up buying a new watch yesterday.. I’ve had a Fitbit for sooo long I was really lost without it.
I have bought another Fitbit. This is the first time in too many years that I’ve had a problem so I decided to stick with the brand. I just hope Google isn’t effing this up.

Thanks for sticking with Fitbit, @michj26!
This may be some stormy times Google going on Fitbit course, but there's coming a lot to be expected. Stay tuned and have fun with your new Fitbit device!

I sent an email reply asking status of replacement, and got an email today asking for shipment address, phone #, and statement that when those are received, the replacement device will be sent out promptly.
I bought a cheap temporary replacement, but I will be glad to get another Fitbit, as I've worn different versions for the past 8 years.
