Data won’t sync with a big red x on the screen. I am unable to get out of it and every time I restart, the same screen pops up. Help

@Rwilson89 Thanks for the additional details.

Please note the message "Data not cleared, Sync & Try again" usually appears when you performed a factory reset without first unpairing your watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

With that being said, please confirm if you've followed the steps below to solve this issue:

  • Unpair your Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hope that helps.

Hi there, @Rwilson89. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out.

To better assist you, may I know the what the error message says?

In the meantime, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device? And if the restart doesn't work, you've also tried to change your clock face as instructed here

Hope that helps.

It says “data not cleared sync and try again”

Whenever I reset it, the message reappears. I have turned the Bluetooth off on my phone and restarted it. The message will not go away

This did not work.  Bluetooth was already unpaired so I don't know why this is occurring.  I followed the step again still no go.  What other suggestions do you have?

Try shutting down the watch, deleting it from the Fitbit app, powering on the watch, then setting it again in the app. Just unpairing it from the phone does not clear the apps cache for the device.

The one time I had this happen that seemed to clear it up.
