Versa 2 stuck on "To start download the Fitbit app" message

I have set up my account on iPhone13, have synched between the device and the phone and already received some info on the phone.  The problem is the fitbit (Versa 2) is unresponsive.  The screen only displays the rotating message "To  start, download the Fitbit app." in the various languages.  Nothing else. No clock. Nothing.  Is my new Versa defective or have I missed a step?

Update: Never mind. 😳

Hi there, @cjandrews. Welcome to the Community Forums. I'm glad to hear you managed to solve the issue. 😊

Nevertheless; for future references, I'd like to clarify what could've happened. Well, as per the message on the watch's screen, it seems that your Versa 2 is asking to be paired. With that said, I'd suggest following the steps below:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Versa 2 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Remove the Versa 2 from your Fitbit account and your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
