Hey guys. I purchased my Fitbit Versa 2 while I was in college back in 2019. I got injured at my former job and I couldn't use my Fitbit anymore since I wasn't active and laid up. So I put it in my drawer for safe keeping until, one day, I can use it again. Well the day has come and I wanna use it again! I factory reset it since it's been years since I used it and wanted to put more up to date info in it. Well, it popped up its default "To start, download the Fitbit app". Well I did and made me a whole new account! When I clicked to the next instructions, its searching for my watch. And it won't find it! I tried turning my Bluetooth on and off numerous times and even uninstalled and reinstalled the app and its still not working! I really really wanna use my watch bc as of now, I am very broke and cannot afford a new one. Someone please help!

Hi there, @imma.smartasg42. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As per the message on the watch's screen, it seems that your Versa 2 is asking to be paired. With that said, I'd suggest following the steps below:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Versa 2 as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Remove the Versa 2 from your Fitbit account and your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hi @imma.smartasg42  - often a logout of the Fitbit App and a phone restart will help, and even a restart of the watch How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Also make sure that there are no other Bluetooth devices on at this point.

When you login to the Fitbit App again, go to the phone home screen without closing the Fitbit App and click on the sync popup which should find your watch, pair and link it.
