Versa 2 stuck on "To start download the Fitbit app"

My versa 2 won't connect to my bluetooth it keeps saying  a app is needed to use this device how do I fix it

Hi there, @Jessicaberube. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 2. I will do my best to help you with this! 

As per the message on the Fitbit device's screen, it seems that your Sense is asking you to pair it properly, have you unpaired it by any chance? With that being said, I'd suggest doing the following:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows your Fitbit device as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Fitbit device again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.

Yes I have tried all that and nothing is working not sure what else I can do
