I've had this watch for about 3 months and I've been actively tracking calories, mostly concerned with comparing my day to day relative to one another. I'm usually hovering around the 2000 calorie mark unless I really exercise. Most days at the end of the day I'm pretty close since it's summer time and I have to do a few jumping jacks before bed to get me across the line, making me very aware of just how much I have to do to get an additional 10 or 20 calories in.
The past 2 days however it's been tracking an abnormally high calorie count - over 2,700 on a day where I was walking around a lot but not compared to other days in the past. I noticed that it was tracking more resting calories when I was just sitting or doing nothing.
I'm not sure if these things have anything to do with it:
- my cardio fitness score has increased
- I scratched my watch screen pretty badly
Anyone have any thoughts?
I don't actually care about the count, just the consistency of the measurements over time and that's what I feel like has been off.

I've seen this happen before where the problem was due to a profile setting being accidentally changed. It's worth a quick check of your age, height, weight etc in your settings at https://www.fitbit.com/settings/profile
