Hi all. Yesterday i bought my first ever smart watch. I went online and looked for the best gym watch i could buy and without a doubt internet was saying versa 2. So i bought it. First day 11k steps. This morning i just drove and have apready 1k steps. I have apready seen several complaining about this and didnt appear before. At night i had 22 steps but that doesnt make a big difference. So i am thinking i am sure there is a way i can set this right? Please help

Hi @Goztek. Welcome! It's great to have a new member. @SunsetRunner, thanks for the heads up! I'm sorry for the delayed response.

@Goztek, thanks for having restarted your watch as well for the detailed information about its behavior. It's expected to see a few steps recorded by mistake when driving, however the information that you're getting doesn't seem right. Since the restart didn't help, I've requested a case to our Support team so they can take a deeper look and help you out. Keep an eye on your inbox.

Hope to see you around.

Edit today by 10am i made over 10000 which is impossible, it says i did 83 floors.  I didn't go on a single stair case..  What is this?

@Goztek - Try restarting your Versa 2. To do this, press the button for 10 seconds, or until you see the Fitbit logo. Release the button. I would do it twice. Hopefully this will snap things back to normal for you. Let us know, please.

@LizzyFitbit my fitbit Versa 2 is doing the same thing. It records as much as 3 times the amount of steps that I have really taken. First day I wore it was nearly 14k steps on a fairly inactive day. Is there a way to calibrate it better?

Hi @mworth14. Welcome on board! I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for joining this thread and sharing that your Versa 2 is experiencing the same behavior. Your watch has a finely-tuned algorithm that looks for intensity and motion patterns to track your steps. However, your watch may add some steps when performing other activities that involve arm movements, such as working or cooking, to give you credit for those steps.

That said, may I know if there was a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that your watch was placed on? Do you also recall since when this started to happen? Please make sure your watch is updated to the latest version, restart your Versa 2 to correct any misbehavior and wear it snug on your wrist to monitor its behavior.

Let me know how everything goes.

Mine is giving me upwards of 100,000 steps a day. It's not even remotely accurate anymore. I have done a factory reset twice. No luck.
