Versa 2 touch screen is not working

My versa 2 touchscreen stopped working. I can't swipe to my apps, notification bar or flip through my daily counters. Everything else still tracks, just the screen doesn't respond to touch.

Hi

Yes I also will not be taking them up on their offer. I am still suspicious of why so many of us are experiencing the same problem at the same time.🤔

While you guys are courteous, none of the solutions work and “further support” is apparently just offering a discount to buy another fitbit. There is too much suspicious about all of this. Versa devices suddenly all developing the same issues after an update shortly after Google has bought out the company….

Like I’ve posted, this is the second time my fitbit device has suddenly stopped working correctly. And it is not like it has been abused or not taken care of. Seems more like planned obsolescence to force user to upgrade.

As others have posted something smells fishy here. Too many users having the exact same issue. Happening after forced updates. Shortly after Google buys Fitbit. And the recommended option is ultimately a discount to buy a new fitbit device.

----------------

Mine is even newer. I got in for Christmas in 2021 so it’s only 16 months old.

----------------

Apparently not. If it’s over 365 days old, there is no replacement, just a discount toward a new one.

Sadly I tried what you suggested. I forgot we can go directly to the FitBit website and view our dashboard-so I did and I made sure it synced directly w/the website and although it did that it didn’t bring back anything to my watch. Can’t see a thing. Even tried a reset-nothing. 😞

@SkylondaGal Might try logging in from web again but this time w/your Fitbit in its charger. Not sure why but sometimes I’m able to fix probs that way.

It is very suspicious timing that many users are experiencing probs since Google’s deadline to do away w/challenges & trophies. The developers are ‘working hard behind the scenes’ alright but God knows what they’re doing 🤔

Seriously! My versa 2 was bought summer 2021 so it is not yet 2 years old, but out of the 1 year warranty. This is horrible for all of us to experience these crashes and I really count on my Fitbit for everything.

Thanks. I tried logging into the website again and syncing my watch but sadly nothing is different. It didn’t help. 🙁

I hope you get a resolution. I suggest calling the support line. They are going to send me a replacement Fitbit! I have to send mine back first but I am glad they're helping me out!

Your watch is probably still in warranty but mine is not. They’re just offering me a discount but they don’t even have the watch I want-it’s on back order.

followed all the instructions and now my Fitbit is useless, it’s just got a permanent error message on the screen, I can’t even use it as a watch now so beware of resetting! Support said someone would be in touch within the day and so far no contact this was 2 days ago. Many suffering the same issues have been offered a discount off a new one but I am very sceptical now so sadly I think I will be looking at a different company for a replacement.!

Same here - just started doing this yesterday. Reset it 3 times. Still not working. Heartrate was stuck with just the heart. Now this morning, it thinks i am working out - 147bpm while I type this. It seems we all started having issues the same day with this...

It seems they’re taking no responsibility for our watches crashing which may be due to their firmware update 😞

On Friday night after the 2nd crash of the day, I took it off the charger hoping for it to be getting a charge and the back of the watch was so hot I did not think wearing it was safe. When I called Fitbit support and told them this they told me to unplug the charger and to not try to charge it anymore. I was scared! What of it overheated and caught fire to my table or burned me?
