Versa 2 touchscreen not working and battery not holding a charge after swimming

I went to the lake last weekend. I was only in the water for 20 minutes or so and didn’t think anything of it. I have family members who have repeatedly swum while wearing their Versa 2. However, ever since, my Versa 2’s touchscreen isn’t working, and a full charge only lasts a few hours. I thought it was water resistant, since as I said my family members have all swum with theirs. Was I wrong? Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks so much.

For the display issue: 

If you haven't done so, please try holding the button pressed for 10 seconds. When the Fitbit logo appears release the button.

Regarding the battery, if after the restart the battery still discharges fast, try the tips here: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life?
