My fitbit versa 2 has been inaccurately tracking calories since the moment I received it on january 19th 2021. I received it and immediately it has said i burned 1267 calories a day for the past 2 weeks. Even when I dont wear it it says i have burned 800 calories. I can turn it on and it will turn on saying i have burned 800-1000 calories despite not having worn it. Please help i would like to use my gift and get a sense of how many cals i am burning a workout

Hi there @hayleyalb, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the inconvenience with your Versa 2.
As @JohnnyRow has mentioned, the value that you see on your Versa 2 when after setting it up is your estimated calorie burn for the day so far.
We estimate your calorie burn based on your age, gender, height and weight. You burning calories even when you are sleeping or just sedentary. When you are not wearing your Fitbit then it is estimate your passive calories burned. That is what you see on the Fitbit app after the set up.
It then populates your profile with this calorie burn back for six months or so to give you a sensible baseline against which to compare your future calorie burn once your watch starts tracking your exercise and adding exercise calories to your BMR calories. What you're seeing is an expected behavior and the calorie counts re individualized to you.

Those are you BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories that you are always burning just to stay alive. Fitbit counts them even when you are not wearing the watch.
