Versa 2 - tracking swimming

The Versa 2 does not actively track the number of laps done while swimming. At present, it only shows time lapsed which is a pointless feature for swimmers. 
Can you advise if this will be fixed with a software update. 
I have heard that the Versa has this feature so not sure why the upgraded watch does not have this feature. 
please please fix!
