Versa 2 unable to locate iphone 8 blutooth

Hi All,

 

I've searced the forums for this issue and all of the troubleshooting and nothing is working. My mom had this versa with the same phone (iphone 8plus) for about a year and it worked great. She gave it to me today after doing a factory reset as she bought the apple watch. 

 

I, for the life of me can not get my phones blutooth to locate the watch. I've restarted both devices, turned blutooth on and off on my phone. The watch itself is stuck on the set up screen as I can't connect to it at all. Any suggestions?

Also, when trying to set it up with my laptop it’s telling me that Bluetooth is off on the device or to connect dongle. I have it plugged into my laptop. I’m stumped. Im also the one who’s set up all her fitness trackers so not sure why I’m struggling so hard with this one.
