Hi there @Joanna_Zak, welcome on board. Thanks for sharing the details about your inquiry with your Versa 2 and for the image attached. Thanks for your help @Guy_!

Please note you're currently in the latest version for Versa 2, which is 35.72.1.9. We usually don't show the number 35 in our firmware threads as for Versa Lite is 38.72.1.9 not 35 and the reason of this is because we create a single thread for all Versa series and don't want create confusion among users.

At this moment, all Versa Smartwatches latest update is 72.1.9 unless we announce otherwise. For more information, see What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update? You can search for Versa 2 and rectify the information provided above.

Hope this clarifies your inquiry, have a nice day!

Versa 2 is up to date. I got updates to version 35.72.1.9 yesterday.

PS. As your question was about the version you have which isn't the latest, I wouldn't immediately upgrade if you are given the possibility

The only thing that you may be missing is the ability to install new clocks made for never versions of your tracker software.

As you are on an old tracker version, it would be interesting to know if you are also on an older version of the Fitbit app, and if you are, don't upgrade that either for now. The latest Android version is 3.36.1, yours is found by

I know. I was browsing the pages and that's  why i s=asked on the forum because someone knows from his experience.

Best Answer

Yes, but how did you get this version? Its not officially announced, hence surely no one else in the forum will know.

Probably best to contact Fitbit Support  directly. They may be able to give you pre update information.

I explain that such an update appeared yesterday in the official fitbit application connected to my watch. I wrote to the support, but no response from them. That's why I'm asking here. Maybe someone else will be able to help me.

I have had this update too and I don't understand why you are being so unhelpful with this simple question!?

You have repeated says that 72.1.9 is the version and we should ignore the "35" ok, but when I follow you links it seems to talk about 4.1.2? Where's that come from? That's nothing like 72? Please can you provide a link that goes to the 72.1.9 update info?

I too am interested to know the changes. Before installing the update I clicked the "what's new in this update" link that showed up with the update... It didn't work, it said the page is unknown on the Fitbit website.

Hello @unluckypixie, welcome!

Please note 4.1.2 is the Fitbit OS and 72.1.9 is the firmware version. For information about Fitbit OS updates, see What's changed in the latest Fitbit OS update? and for the firmware, see What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?

Let me know if you have any questions present.

Maybe, I see some of the confusion.  I checked out the relevant link about what has changed with the latest Fitbit OS update after the firmware update.  The only information provided is:

  • bug fixes
  • improvements

The article doesn't actual detail what the bug fixes are or what improvements were made.  See the screenshot below.  I believe folks are looking for specific details.  - Todd

I would advise against updating yet, I did and my heart rate monitor has completely tanked. It’s been good for 18 months and correlates well to both of my partner’s old Apple Watch and new Apple Watch until this firmware update, but now there is almost no link between my perceived effort and heart rate. At rest it’s fine but with vigorous exercise is 20 to 30 beats per minute behind where it should be at that effort and same amount off from if I wear my partners Apple Watch on the other wrist.

is google trying to get us to by a new watch?

I agree with "dandeforge".  Not sure its worth contacting Fitbit customer service for them to have me reboot my Versa 2 and Fitbit app (which I already have done).  I updated to this latest firmware last night.  At rest my heart rate monitor seems accurate but using the elliptical in my gym (that I know has an accurate heart rate monitor) my Versa 2 was about 20 -25 beats per minute slower than the accurate elliptical heart rate monitor (Versa 2 reached 110 bpm and accurate elliptical showed 135 bpm).   I'm hoping a fix to this becomes available soon.  Loved my Versa 2 but totally inaccurate heart rate monitor isn't acceptable when I work out three times a week.

Best Answer

Yes I agree.  I did the update yesterday and my heartrate monitor basically just doesn't work at all anymore.  Yesterday during exercise it bounced from 105 to 160 every 30ish seconds, back and forth the entire time.  Today, it made zero effort to even get my heart rate at all.  During a pretty intense workout it sat at 105 the entire time for 30+ minutes.  I had my husbands Galaxy on the other wrist and it showed in the 160s-180s.  My Versa 2 was never beensuper responsive to heart rate changes, it always lagged behind and had trouble catching up to my actual heart rate, but this is actually just completely non-functional now.

I am having the same problem with mine since updating!
