Versa 2 wakes me up in the middle of the night

For sometime now my Fitbit versa 2 will vibrate as if an alarm has been set at midnight. It doesn't do it every night, it can go weeks without doing it, then sometimes it will do it for a couple of nights running. I've double checked that I don't have an alarm set, and there's nothing. It's really annoying to be woken up at midnight for no reason. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi @Babybear42 - if it is an alarm it will show on the display as one.

Try changing to another clock face because if there is a fault with it at midnight and it causes the watch to restart it may vibrate.

It's important to have the watch in Sleep mode during the night because otherwise it can also be because of a notification from the phone, due to an event..

One way to eliminate the phone being an issue is to turn off Bluetooth at night.

Hi

It's not an alarm I've checked and rechecked this. My phone is turned off at night and I don't have it synced to receive messages. If it was a fault with the clock face it would do it all the time which it doesn't, it's very hit and miss.

@Babybear42 - that's good, thanks. It can still be (and looking more likely) a clock issue.  It can happen the code is triggered differently due to timing issues, so try with another clock face at night and resume your normal one during the day.

Hi there, @Babybear42. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 2 is waking you up in the middle of the night. I understand your concern, we're here to help you!

By any chance are you seeing a message on your Fitbit device's screen when it starts vibrating? Have you caught your Versa 2 displaying "Look Alive"? If you have, this message is part of your alarms and it seems like you have Smart Wake feature enabled. Smart Wake attempts to find the best time to wake you starting 30 minutes before the alarm time you set. For more information, see How do I set an alarm on my Fitbit device?

As a friendly reminder, know that the alarms and timers you set with Alexa are separate from those you set in the Alarms app or Timer app. For more information, see How do I use a voice assistant on my Fitbit smartwatch?

@Guy_ Thanks for helping out!

Hi

I do not use Alexa to set any of my alarms as I don't have one. There are no messages when I look at my Fitbit when it wakes me and there are no alarms of any kind set. They are all turned off. I only ever set alarms on the watch itself and there are none set for midnight. Guess I'll just have to live with it.

@Babybear42 Thanks for getting back and for the information provided.

As our last resort, I'd recommend performing a factory reset on your Versa 2. Important: Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

With the above being said, please sync your Versa 2 and then, proceed with the steps below in the order listed:

  1. Hold the back button for about 8 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears:
    1. Release the button briefly (for less than 2 seconds).
    2. Hold the button again until you feel a second, longer vibration, which indicates you initiated the factory reset.

You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?
