My partner bathed our son with his versa 2 Fitbit on knowing it was water resistant then noticed the face was black afterwards. We have tried charging to see whether the battery was dead and it still wouldn’t work. He has had the Fitbit less than a year is there any advice you could give us please?

The watches don't like hot water.
You can verify if it has water in it by looking in the little windows at the back with a magnifying glass looking for beads of condensation.
If none is detected, try holding the button for up to 10 seconds, until it vibrates and the logo appears.
If that doesn't work and you still suspect water in it, leave it dry in a warm place for a few days, on its button side. Don't charge if it is wet.
It may come back to life but its unlikely to be very reliable.
