Versa 2 will not receive text messages from Samsung Galaxy S10e

It looks like there are others having this problem. I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e. The watch was replaced under warranty once but the new watch is having the same problem: unable to receive text messages but calls and other notifications come through fine. I have done all recommended troubleshooting including a factory reset. I'm starting this string to determine if anyone has been successful in fixing this problem?

Hi @kemac , it's obvious meanwhile that this is caused by the newest Firmware update 70.7.14 and, for unknown reason, mainly affecting Samsung owners. Fitbit is aware of it and working on a fix. When released? I do not know a timeframe. Regards kuzibri

Haven't been able to receive them on my iPhone for quite a while.   keep being told they are working on it.   Time to consider getting a different tracker

Putting this out there because I think others are having the problem. I went through all recommended troubleshooting without success. Yesterday I finally installed Google messenger (I was using the default messenger app from Samsung). Don't forget to set Google as the default messenger app in Fitbit. At least for the last 24 hours or so I've been receiving text messages on the Versa 2!! Cross fingers that it continues to work!

HI @kemac  I use Messenger+ and it works well. Glad you didn't give up!

Fought with my Versa 2 for a week trying to get texts to come through.  I have a Note 10 plus. After much research, I was told by Samsung that they included an update to their Message app with the Android 10 update.  That update possibly broke the text notifications.  While I do prefer the stock Samsung app, installing Google Messages and making it the default messaging app fixes the issue.

After you install Google messages,  go to your fitbit app. Click on your image on top left corner. Then click SYNC. A new screen will appear  - click notifications. Click on text and choose the messages app as default.

You're lucky, I don't get anything except a random notification that I've missed a call.  I checked to see if the Versa 2 was compatible to the S10e and the website said it was...that didn't work out well.  Please hurry up with the updates needed to get this working properly!
