Hi @Beasl - it's not necessary to charge to 100%, in most cases it's a waste of time trying.

It can take more than 15 minutes to go from 99 to 100%, sometimes even an hour, this is time you can be wearing the watch instead, and won't drastically change how long before it needs charging again.

Hi there, @Beasl. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 2.

As @Guy_ has mentioned, it can take more than 10-15 mins to go from 99% to 100%. Personally, I never tend to charge my electronic devices to 100%, I've learned that the best way I can preserve the battery life is when I charge them to 80%. I charge them when the battery is at 20% then wait until it's at 80%.

However, I can understand if you want to charge your device to 100%. So, to make sure your Versa 2 is receiving good power source, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)

If needed, you can check Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

Hope this helps.

@Beasl I gave up trying to charge mine to 100% long ago. Mine is pretty quick to charge up to 99% but that last 1% can take up to 1 addl hr (for me anyway). Leaving it on charger has even resulted in it dropping from 99% to 95%… baffling. I also notice when I only have time to charge it to 80%, the battery depletes faster. I charged it to 80% yest & 2 hrs later it was down to 60%.
