I’m so disappointed in Fitbit. I did latest update and now my watch will not charge. I plug it in and all I get is battery with exclamation point. Anyone else have this issue? Of course all Fitbit says is we will give you discount on new one. Seriously I bought this one last Christmas. It’s barely a year old. If that’s all the longer they last I will go with a different smart watch.

Hi there @DeanaV, welcome to the Community Forums. We acknowledge the limitation we have on our part particularly on what you have experienced. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services.
Thanks for your question about why we offered a discount towards a new Fitbit product instead of a replacement of your existing Fitbit product. Our limited warranty provides repair or replacement of products that have a defect while still in the warranty period. Your device is out of the warranty period, and therefore is not eligible for repair or replacement, but we want to offer you a discount to thank you for your loyalty to Fitbit.
Please note that our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can.
For more information about the outcome of your case, please get in touch with our team again or check our warranty policies (fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty) for a better understanding of the information that was provided to you.

It may have had an issue with the update and or got flat
To see what's happening with the charge
Connect the charge cable to the watch and plug it into a PC USB port
The PC should announce a connected device with a sound, it means its connected and charging [if there is no sound, either the volume on the PC is low, or off, or the watch is not properly connected to the charger]
if PC then announces a disconnected device with another sound, it means the watch battery is either flat or the watch is dead
anyway wait 10 minutes [for battery to get to 5%] if the watch or battery is not dead it will announce device connected again [the watch may also wake up]
if after an hour there is nothing on the watch face try starting it by pressing a button for a few seconds and waiting for the logo to appear or restarting with the buttons
if nothing comes on the screen, either there is a screen or button fault or the watch is dead - but wait
Check the button start procedure, and that the button clicks |
If the battery got critically low it may take a day to wake.
If that fails probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.
