Hi @SunsetRunner - this can be an issue with the new V4 Fitbit App which loses connection.

A Bluetooth connection is needed for syncing and to get notifications.

Try charging the watch and then hold the watch button for 10 seconds till it blanks or vibrates and wait for the logo to appear and for it to start.

It may be necessary to restart the phone also then sync.

@SunsetRunner- when it's charged try this method to see if you can find it.

What should I do if I lose my Fitbit device?

That will tell you if the Bluetooth on the watch is working or if it is damaged.

Then you will know if it is a watch issue or a phone/ Fitbit App issue.

You can also anyway try removinf the watch from the phone's Bluetooth and in the Fitbit App run "Set up a Device" and select your watch and replace.
