Versa 2 won't connect to my phone's Bluetooth anymore

My watch will not connect to my phone via Bluetooth, I have factory reset it, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it.....not sure what the problem is. Anyone else have this issue and figured out how to fix it?

Hello @mcterry

Let’s try setting your Versa 2 up again as a new device. You will not lose any of your data. The only data you will lose is anything that occurred after your last successful sync.

To set up your Versa 2 as a new device follow these steps closely:

  1. On your phone, tap Settings > Bluetooth > the information icon next to the name of your Fitbit device > Forget This Device if your on an iOS device or tap unpair if your on an Android device. If it doesn’t appear at all no worries just go to the next step.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections that are nearby.
  3. Verify if the Fitbit app is updated to the latest version.
  4. Log out of the Fitbit App then force shut the Fitbit app by swiping it upwards
  5. Restart your phone.
  6. Restart your Fitbit:  https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm
  7. Log back into the Fitbit app, tap on your profile picture then scroll down and tap Set Up a Device.
  8. Choose your Fitbit from the list and follow the onscreen instructions. When asked if you want to replace your Versa 2 say yes.

😃 I hope this helps get you up and running again. Please come back and let me know how it went

Hi there, @mcterry. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.

Please note the difficulties you're having to reconnect your Fitbit device to your phone's Bluetooth, usually happens when you perform a factory reset without first unpairing your watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings.

With that being said and as @SunsetRunner suggested, please confirm if you've followed the steps below to solve this issue:

  • Unpair your Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 2.

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

On a side note, please make sure the phone you're syncing with meets the requirements listed here.

Hope that helps.

Hi I’m having the same problem with my versa 2 and iPhone. I need to close and open the app, and it asks me to pair my watch, and then it syncs. Doesn’t stay connected tho.
also notice that I don’t get the (i) next to my versa 2 on my list of devices with Bluetooth, so I can’t ‘forget this device’ I need to turn Bluetooth off and it disappears and when I turn Bluetooth back on doesn’t appear in the list. Only appears on I open the app and pair.
means I don’t get notifications any more, and no automatic sync.

please help, tried everything from above multiple times. It does seem to be having problems connecting to my wifi even tho it discovers it fine

Hello @Laurie2177

You mentioned that the (i) is missing next to your Versa 2 on the Bluetooth list. I would try deleting the Fitbit App, restart your phone then reinstall the Fitbit app. The theory is that deleting the app associated with the Bluetooth connection will also remove the Versa 2 from your Bluetooth. Reinstalling it will put it back on correctly.

Thank you for trying to help me, but it didn’t work.
It’s so strange, the versa 2 isn’t being recognised by my Bluetooth. Doesn’t come up on my list of devices, nor on the other devices. It only appears once I close and open the app.

Hello again @Laurie2177

Have you tried the instructions I posted here on this thread? Look above to the instructions I gave to set your Versa 2 up as a new device. I would certainly give that a try.

Also… can you look here to make sure you are using a compatible Mobile Device: https://www.fitbit.com/global/us/technology/compatible-devices. If you are make sure your Mobile device is up to date as well.

😉Let me know how it goes
