Versa 2 won't connect to my phone

It started with my Fitbit not displaying or syncing then I tried your method of back-button reset.  But the back button won’t do it.  I get what appears to be a reset by pushing and holding all three buttons. It won’t pare with my iphone using the app and it does not show-up in the iPhone Bluetooth list.  I tried forget this device in blue tooth, rebooting my iPhone 8, deleting and reinstalling the app, but the device will not connect.  I deleted the Versa 2 from my app, multiple re-tries to set-up device, but it always fails (the app sees the Versa 2 I get the numeric code on the Versa, but it always fails - “abort message”).  After 4 hours of internet searches and many, many attempts, I’m about ready to give up.  If I cannot get this fixed, pretty soon, this will be my last Fitbit and I will go Apple.  My son and daughter both have apple watches and they have been robust with no problems for 3 years.
