I recently transferred my Fitbit versa 2 to my son. I was able to set the device up and pair it successfully a week ago. Since then the versa 2 had not updated. I tried to pair again with no luck. I turned off the Bluetooth, turned off my phone, reset the versa and nothing. Please help

Hi there, @Cmahurin. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with the Versa 2 before reaching out.

I agree with @SunsetRunner. It seems like the Versa 2 is still linked to your phone's Bluetooth. With that being said, I suggest trying the following:

  • Unpair the Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth and also from your son's.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your son's phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart the Versa 2.

Hope that helps.

Hello @Cmahurin

🤔 Is it possible (since you gifted your Versa 2 to your son) that the Versa 2 is still showing up on your phone as a connected device and causing conflicts?

If that’s not the case it might help to reset up the Versa 2 again on your son’s mobile device again as a new device. He won’t lose any data he might have collected during that week he had it syncing successfully. That data is being held on the Fitbit Servers. But the data he collected after his last successfully sync will be lost.

Here is how you set up your sons Versa 2 again as a new device. Please follow these steps closely and do not skip a step

  1. Remove any connected Fitbit from the Bluetooth settings on his phone. If on an Android tap unpair….if using an iOS tap the blue information icon beside the Versa 2 then tap forget device. Basically make sure the Versa 2 doesn’t show on Bluetooth at all.
  2. Turn off other nearby Bluetooth connections.
  3. Check if the Fitbit App is updated
  4. Log out of his Fitbit app and reboot his phone.
  5. Restart his Versa 2: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm
  6. Log back into the Fitbit app as he normally would with his email address and password, tap his profile picture then scroll down and tap Set Up a Device.
  7. Select the Versa 2 in the list of trackers and follow the onscreen instructions. When asked if you want to replace the Versa 2 say yes.

😃 Hopefully this gets your sons Versa 2 up and running again. Please come back and let me know how it goes
