Versa 2 won't connect to wifi, says password is incorrect

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just bought a Versa 2 and am in the process of setting it up. It connects to Bluetooth, but won't connect to my wifi. I go through the setup, and the app finds my network, but when I enter the password, it tells me it's incorrect and won't connect. It's set up with WEP protection, which I've read is fine, but even after resetting the watch, reconnecting it to my phone, and making sure my router isn't filtering MAC addresses, I still can't get it to connect. Any suggestions?

@beardedlady, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa 2 since it can't be set up due to a WiFi connection issue. I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like to know what is the brand and model of your phone.

In the meantime, make sure that you are following the setup instructions that are listed in this help article and see if it connects properly.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Thanks for your help!

My phone is a Motorola MotoZ3. I tried connecting to the wifi at work this morning and it was able to do that with no trouble (it's also password protected, but it accepted that password just fine), so I'm hoping there's still a chance for my home network! My Versa 2 has connected just fine to the phone and synced successfully several times, so I'm just troubleshooting how to get it to accept that my wifi password is correct.

I have the same issue, I have to keep on resyncing everything. Each time I do it it is as if I a pairing a new Fitbit. Yesterday the Versa 2 did connect to the internet once and everything sync but not it's off again. not sure where the issues are, but I have a Samsung Galaxy 8 plus

Mine did that too although at home I canceled the update accidentally and then it immediately started to update the app with the connection to the internet. Then I woke up today and had to start it all over again.

I got my fitbit versa 2 yesterday as well and everything set up with Bluetooth, but I am getting the same issues as beardedlady and others after following the same/correct setup process. Mine is WEP protection as well and I tried "none" as well. I have an S8+ Android.

Hi @JuanJoFitbit, still no luck connecting to my home wifi. Work wifi connects fine, but that doesn't help me add music to my device. I've followed the setup instructions you shared, but no progress. Any other suggestions?

After spending an hour chatting with the Fitbit help folks, I ended up resetting my wifi password to one chosen by the router wizard, instead of the one I chose than I can actually remember. My stupid password is now about 20 characters of nonsense, but using it, my Versa did connect! May be worth a try to change or reset your wifi password. Good luck!

I am having the same issue. New Versa 2, everything works except connecting to WEP WiFi.

I got a new Kindle Fire as a gift, and tested to make sure the WiFi password is correct, and the Kindle connected to my home WiFi, with the router password, instantly, so I know it is the correct password.

Note: I was able to connect to family's newer WPA2 security network with no problem, so I am guessing it has something to do with my older WEP security router.

This is the correct answer!! I finally found out how to change the password on my wifi router, from the one that originally came with it, and it instantly worked.  Now my Versa 3 connected to my home wifi no problem.
