I was set up and receiving notifications for Messenger when it suddenly stopped. Messenger is set up correctly for notifications. Android Phone software is up to date. Messenger option in app notifications option is greyed out and unselectable.

Are the Facebook Messenger notifications the only ones missing? Are other notifications working fine? I'd recommend checking whether your Versa 2 is in sleep mode. When sleep mode is on:

Connections came back as suddenly as they disappeared. Gremlins, I guess.
