Versa 2 won't receive notifications from Ticktick app

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Versa 2, connected to my fitbit account, fitbit app running on Pixel 4a. I have notifications from all apps turned on to be sent to my Versa 2.

All calls, texts, and notifications work from all apps except from one particular app. That app is Ticktick, my todo list app. From what I can tell, this app sends notifications just the same as all other apps. They always come through on my phone without fail.

I have already tried all of the troubleshooting steps and get the same result (reset phone, fitbit, forget bluetooth connection, etc etc).

What else can I try to fix the issue?

Hi @EfficiencyNerd  since all your other apps are working with Fitbit and notifying you, might be worth it to check with the tech people at TickTock. Whatever it is very well may be on their end of things and not Fitbit. I did find this article from them on what to do if your Android phone isn't getting a notification - click to read. Let us know what happens. If you can't get it working, is there another app that might be just as good?

The issue is not that my Android phone doesn't get these notifications - as stated in my original post, the notifications on my phone itself from TickTick always come through just fine. And within the settings for my Versa 2, I have notifications enabled for the TickTick app. But they never appear on the Versa 2.

At this point I'm not really interested in switching to another app as my whole family uses it for dozens of family chores/reminders.

I did notice one thing that may be the issue, which is that my fitbit seems to force me to have "Require Encryption" enabled. Is it possible that TickTick does not have encrypted notifications? Is there any way I can disable encrypted notifications on my fitbit? I do not really care if for example someone within bluetooth range can see my notification to take the trash out on Mondays at 6 pm, for example.

I'm going to move your post to the Third Party Integration forum area, so you can receive more relevant responses for this. I'm not sure if TickTock has encrypted notifications, but their support could answer that.

This morning between 7 and 8 am I had 4 notifications from TickTick happen for various morning tasks. Today, ONE of those notifications came through to my Versa 2. Based on that I believe my previous theory that TickTick does not generate encrypted notifications is wrong.

The notification for the task that did come through was no different than any of the others and was set up to notify me in the exact same way. I have no idea why that one worked and all the others don't.

Hi @EfficiencyNerd , did you have any luck resolving this issue? I got a Fitbit Charge 5 for Christmas and seem to be having the exact same issue, with all notifications except TickTick showing on the Fitbit.

I did not really resolve the issue per se, but I did find a workaround - I discovered that the Ticktick notifications that do come through are the ones with lists/subtasks. You don't even have to add any text as a subtask, but just by clicking the 3 bullet point lines on any task and converting it to a list item (instead of one with a text description), the notifications come through. A bit hacky but it works for me.

Merry Christmas and enjoy your new fitbit!

Thank you very much! Notifications to the Fitbit did seem to come through for me when I created as a TickTick list, so I'll make do with this method for now. I was looking forward to getting push notifications to my wrist from TickTick and was beginning to sweat when I couldn't find a way to do it.

Thank you and you too, Merry Christmas!

Hello everyone!

Guys, I found what the problem is. At least it works for me. Faced the same problem after buying the Galaxy Watch 5. All notifications came except for one application - TickTick. In the process of searching for a solution, I came across your messages and after I found a solution, decide to register here to write to you😄

Solution:

In TickTick settings, you need to disable the Sound & Notifications -> Advanced Settings -> Reminder Stick on Status Bar option. After that, absolutely all TickTick notifications started coming to the watch.

Are you able to snooze the notifications (e.g., snooze 15' or 1 hour) directly from the watch?

I'm able to do so with a Galaxy Watch, but not from my Sense 2.

Curiously, my wife is also able to do so with a Fitbit Luxe...
