Versa 2 won't receive notifications from my Huawei P Smart

I cannot get texts on my versa 2 which is paired with my Huawei p smart 2019. done as all suggested, pair /unpair, uninstall /reinstall. Checked notifications, permissions etc etc.

P smart isn't listed as one of the Huawei that fit bit has 'difficulties' with. But could this be why??

Really frustrating.

@ShonaL11 Thanks for the update.

If you're getting this error message “Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker”, please note that we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

I'd like to provide the following steps that actually work for Huawei users, so I think it would worth the try:

  1. On your phone, open the Settings app > Apps and notifications > Apps.
  2. Tap Fitbit > Battery.
  3. Turn off the Power-intensive prompt option.
  4. Tap Launch.
  5. Turn off the Manage automatically option, and turn on the Auto-launch, Secondary launch, and Run in background options.
  6. Tap OK.

Note that you may see a message on your phone related to power consumption and apps scanning in the background. If you follow the steps in this message, the Fitbit app can’t run in the background and certain features may not work properly. Repeat the steps above to enable the Fitbit app to run in the background.

PS: OS stands for Operation System of your phone.

Hope that does the trick for you.

Hi there, @ShonaL11. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand how frustrating this can be.

Regarding your inquiry, please make sure that your Huawei P Smart meets the requirements listed here.

By any chance, do you receive any error message in the Fitbit app? If so, what does it say? While I wait for your response, please make sure that you've followed the troubleshooting steps provided here Why are notifications delayed or missing?

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the super quick reply.

My phone isn't listed on the link you sent, and is updated to 10. Not sure what OS means though 🥴.

I've followed all the trouble shooting.

The error message reads

Notifications service not running. A phone restart is required in order to re-enable notifications to your tracker.

I have obviously restarted my phone as suggested but that has not helped.

Thanks
