Versa 2 won't receive notifications from my phone

I'm not able to receive any notifications on my Fitbit versa 2. It's brand new and hadn't worked for two weeks it's only 7 weeks old. I keep getting told on the app to restart my phone but it doesn't work. I can hit the test notification call and sometimes that works but none of my notifications are showing. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Would you mind letting me know if you get any error message either on your watch or Fitbit app? If so, what it does say? Is it “Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker”? If so, please note that we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

Yes, that error message is appearing and even when I restart the phone. I'm not getting any notifications on my Fitbit.

I received my Versa today and I am having the same problem. I have restarted my phone twice and the watch itself

This is has been going on for months with me and no matter how many restarts i do it never sorts it out. Its really annoying me 

Didnt pay all this money for the watch that dont funtion properly

I've been reporting this since June 🙄 it's great that Fitbit know about it. It's not so great that they still have no fixed it. I'm not sure why it's taking so long. 

One day it works and it's great then the next day nothing again.

I'm having the same problem. I've had my watch at least a year and it's always worked, except when it won't sync. But in the last week it stopped receiving my messages. Restarting my phone and my watch doesn't work. When will fitbit fix this?!

New watch today - notifications don't work. What's the point of it? Will send it back. The software on the app and watch is rubbish - very flaky.

Just got the versa 2 yesterday. Been on tech support almost all.night. without their assistance, I figured out a setting to receive call notifications, but I still do not get any message/text notifications. Very frustrating! Going to keep trying for about a week... Then I am sending back!

After many hours i found a solution - in Text Messages setting, set as Messages (don't select hangouts, or whatsapp etc).

 

Then you can select the apps that will notify you - in the App Notification section (there you can select whatsapp etc).

Where is the text message settings? On the watch or in the fitbit app? I cannot find such a setting. Thank you.

In the fitbit app. Account - Versa 2 - General - Notifications - Text Messages - Messages
