Versa 2 won't reconnect with iPhone

My wife who was a Fitbit user for 7 years has tried to get my Versa 2 to work today. She tried removing it from the Fitbit. Then she tried to set up the device. It will not work for her. My Versa 2 stopped syncing on September 5th. I do not care all that much abut steps, but my wife noticed when I didn't get texts or calls on my device. She says she gets the 4 digits and puts them in. then, the device tries for several minutes and then aborts.. My Versa 2 is just barely one year old. It may still be in warranty. We do not know what could be wrong with it. My wife also tried restarting my Versa2. That also didn't work. We may need to just give up and buy an Apple watch, but I hate this as my device is so new.

Hi Lilya,

This is Gunsmoke's wife. I tried everything you said. There are no other Bluetooth devices connected. I gave up and tried to call support and then a REALLY WEIRD thing happened. His Fitbit buzzed and said it was an active call. If the Versa 2 is not even synced, how on earth could it see that call? I hung up immediately.. The iPhone was still saying connecting. I finally saw next and I WAS able to get the Fitbit Versa 2 ono WiFi. Right this minutes both my husband's iPhone and his Versa 2 are plugged in and hopefully updating. I do not understand why his Fitbit got disconnected at all. He does NOT have another device. I do appreciate your answer, but I really think Fitbit has gone to heck in a handbasket since Google bought it. I gave up and bought an Apple watch about four months ago.

Here we are 3 days later and his Versa 2 is no longer showing texts or calls!!! It does at least still sync. I spent an hour fixing it before, I am not doing that again. When I had a Versa 2, I did get texts on mine. His seems to be even more unstable than mine was. I switched over to an Apple watch about four months ago.  It is very different, but I am happy with it.

I got disgusted with Fitbit in September 2020 when it claimed I had 447 zone minutes and climbed 64 floors. This was all faked as I am an elderly woman who back then had injuries. I complained for months, but Fitbit never even admitted the update was flawed. I was not the only  one who complained. Other people started saying Fitbit was removing their complaints. Then it happened to me also.

I was a big fan of Fitbit for seven years! I am sorry the company has gone so wrong. Before September 2020, I actually thought I would get the Versa 3, but then everything changed.
