Versa 2 won't set up after a factory reset

So I haven't been using my Versa 2 for a while and wanted to get back to using it. I tried to sync with my phone, but it wouldn't work. I tried all the troubleshooting steps but it didn't help, so I went to factory reset. Now it won't set up at all, it doesn't "find" my device. Twice I got the "found it!" message, but then it went back to the "make sure your Versa 2 is on" screen. I've rebooted my phone and my watch multiple times. I've reinstalled the app and made sure it's up to date. I've made sure my phone (Huawei P30 lite) is up to date. I even made a new fitbit account, but it still won't work. Help!

Hi there, @RisuN. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. 

 

Please note that the difficulty you are having to set up your Versa 2 usually happens when you perform a factory reset without first unpairing the watch. So, in order to solve this issue, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

 

  • Remove your Versa 2 from your Fitbit account and unpair it from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa 2 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa once again.

 

If you can't get started with your Versa 2, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

I also have the same exact issue and went through these steps multiple times and still nothing. It shows a red X and says data not cleared, sync and try again.

So, I have no idea what happened. My Versa was on the charger on my desk when I suddenly got a notification to set it up on my phone, without me doing anything. I continued with the setup and it now works perfectly. I have no idea why, but I guess the problem solved itself.
