Hi there, @Derval3. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out.

As @Julia_G has mentioned, please make sure that your Charge 5 is no longer connected to your old mobile device as this might be preventing your Fitbit device from connecting properly. Therefore, it won't sync and the time won't update.

With that being said, please follow the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Charge 5 from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Charge 5 again.
  • Set up notifications on your Charge 5 again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 5 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Once you manage to sync your Charge 5, the time should be corrected. Keep in mind that your Fitbit device uses the time of the device you're syncing with.

Hi, @Derval3 , do you still have your old phone? If so it is possible that it is interfering with the sync.  Please make sure that Bluetooth is turned off on your old phone if it is in range when you are trying to sync.

I find the simplest way of forcing a sync is simply to log out of your Fitbit account and log back in again.  That should force a sync.  Sometimes it helps to give the Fitbit a restart just before logging out of the account so that everything is fresh.

If that doesn’t work, please have a look at this help article for troubleshooting a Fitbit that won’t sync and carefully work through the steps.  Having said that, I would NOT recommend following the advice to remove the Fitbit from your account, except as a very last resort, because if the problem continues, you may not be able to add it back in.

Once your Fitbit syncs it should update the time.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the forums!
