Versa 2 won't stay connected to my iPhone's Bluetooth

About two days ago my Versa 2 has suddenly started dropping the Bluetooth connection with my iPhone. I had changed nothing on either device prior to this. My iPhone is now getting a Bluetooth pairing request (any time I open the app) and shows unable to sync.
I have "forgotten" the Versa from my Bluetooth list and re-established it. Doesn't help.
The sync issue is no different on my PC app.
Note: it will eventually pair with the iPhone then drop.
