@dbull988 If you're getting this error message “Notification service is not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker”, please note that we’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.
I'd like to provide the following steps that actually work for Huawei users, I know you have a LG stylish 4, but it's still and Android device, so I thing it would worth the try:
Note that you may see a message on your phone related to power consumption and apps scanning in the background. If you follow the steps in this message, the Fitbit app can’t run in the background and certain features may not work properly. Repeat the steps above to enable the Fitbit app to run in the background.
Hope that does the trick for you too.

Hi there, @dbull988. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the inconvenience with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.
May I know the model of your mobile phone? Please make sure it meets the requirements listed here.
Despite meeting the above requirements, the following devices often exhibit compatibility issues that cause our products and services to not operate properly:
If your phone is not on the list above and meets the requirements to operate properly with the Fitbit app, please try the steps below in the following order:
1. Remove the Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth settings and in the Fitbit app.
2. Restart your Versa 2.
3. Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use.
4. Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
5. Set up your Versa 2.
Hope that helps.

I was having trouble with this exact thing. The only notifications that were coming through were phone calls. Just followed your above steps, and IT'S WORKING. All notifications coming through. Thank you kindly. For reference, I have a Huawei Nova 5t. Can't thank you enough 👍🏻😎

My phone settings were slightly different to the a I've steps.
I've rechecked my version if the steps, and I've got these steps for you to try 😊
> settings
> apps
> apps (again)
> fitbit
> power usage details
> launch settings
> TURN OFF "manage automatically"
> under this option there are 3 options, make sure they are ALL TURNED ON
+ auto launch
+ secondary launch
+ run in background
Caps isn't yelling at you by the way. Restart phone and fitbit if necessary. Hold down button on fitbit until the logo comes back up. Go back into fitbit app and see if the message of "not working" is gone.
Hope that helps
