Versa 2 won't swipe in any direction.

A few days ago my Fitbit versa 2 stopped showing message notifications on the screen and also stopped responding to a swipe in any direction - like the screen doesn't respond to touch any more. I want to restart but can't without access to the menus. I installed Alexa to instruct it to restart but it says unsupported request.

Hi @Kezzabelle - try holding the button for 10 seconds till it vibrates and the logo appears and wait for it to start.

If this doesn't resolve it then view the sudden change it is likely a watch fault, most commonly water getting in.

The only other option is to do a factory reset but it is unlikely to help and you can always chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & support, Contact Customer support for help with that.

If it gets hot when charging stop immediately.

Thanks, that was a good suggestion. Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. The watch is still under warranty so I think it's time for a visit to the store of purchase.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help!

Fitbit is an exercise tracker so should be water resistant.  My Versa 2 started acting up just recently when I traveled to Mexico. Screen flashing while in the plane, wouldn't keep time and now it doesn't respond to swipe or touch screen. Finally got the time to sync up, but based on several other comments, folks have had the same problem within the same time frame. Sounds like a Fitbit issue.  Maybe they're forcing problems so we have to purchase a new model.  I contacted tech support and their solution was to offer 35% discount on a new purchase.

Hi @1BlingyGal -  the specifications for this watch says

"Water-Resistant

You’re covered to 50m, so dance in the rain if that’s how you want to work out today."

Some watch seals aren't that robust and fail over time. Depending on the leak it can take time for the watch functions to degrade or can be immediately.

Note the 35% discount is only available on more expensive later watches which don't have all the features your watch has.
