Hi!
My Versa 2 started turning on and off at 40% battery. As I couldn’t understand what was going on, and I couldn’t keep it on, I let the battery drain.
I let it charge and, firstly, it started showing a red low battery sign, when I tried to turn it on. Now, after charging for 4 hours, it doesn’t seem to charge, nor turn on again.
I’m holding the button for some 20 seconds and nothing happens at all. It seems to have died. What to do?
Thanks!

Hi @SunsetRunner - your watch won't do anything if it is not charged and it doesn't appear to be charging at all.
Check the terminals are clean and you are using the correct Versa 2 charger [An "original Versa" charger is not compatible] and also try using a computer as the power source.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 2 before reaching out. I understand where your concern is coming from.
Did your Versa 2 vibrate while you tried performing the restart? If it didn't, I'd suggest trying the below steps:
If the above steps don't work, I'd suggest performing a restart by following the steps below (please remove your Versa 2 from your phone's Bluetooth before performing this step):
You can follow the steps to set up the device after that: How do I set up my Fitbit device?
Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.
Hope that helps.

Dear Guy_, thank you for your tips.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to help. I have cleaned the terminals and tried different power sources and computers.
Now, it shows the Fitbit logo, like it is turning on, but turns off. Then it does this indefinetely: Logo appears for around 8 seconds, then it goes off for around 14 seconds.
Thank you again!

Dear Marre, thank you for your reply.
I have cleaned the terminals and tried different power sources and computers. Firstly, the No Charge sign appeared.
Now, it shows the Fitbit logo, like it is turning on, but turns off. Then it does this indefinitely: Logo appears for around 8 seconds, then it goes off for around 14 seconds, and logo again, then it goes off.
If you have tried the 8 second button hold, but it doesn't react to anything I do, except when I put it to charge it goes On and Off like I have explained above.
Do you have any other tip for me? I appreciate it.
All the best!

I've had the same issue. Started with the hear rate monitor not working for 3 days. Worked on the 4th day then watch could not charge. Cleaned both terminals, used several charging points and the watch has been on the charger for 2 days now. Press and hold the botton for more than 30 seconds and still no joy. 3rd Fitbit in 3 years so madr a decision to switch to Garmin over the weekend. Cannot spend money every year when the watch gives in everytime after 13/14 months

@SunsetRunner- thanks. The logo disappears to save battery after 10 seconds, but it seems to be restarting by itself.
Try to perform the factory reset [if this fails it may destroy the watch entirely] please do as follows.:
The timing is important.
If it stops restarting by itself, wait a couple of minutes for the factory reset to complete.
You will know if it is successful as you will get the logo with the installation instructions.

Dear Thandeka1,
I am starting to believe that the planned failure of these types of devices is between 1 and a half to 2 years. Some years ago, I had a Polar tracker that just stopped working with no reason after a year or so of use.
If this Versa 2 doesn't work anymore, it will have cost me USD 150,00 a year. That doesn't seem to be reasonable.
But, let's see what happens within the next few days. If it doesn't work, I will just throw it in the bin and never buy devices like that - I already know how much exercise, distance and time I need to reach my daily minimums.
Thank for your reply.
All the best!
