Versa 2 won't turn on or take a charge

My Versa 2 has completely stopped working. The green light on the back is gone, it will not charge, the screen is completely black, I cannot reset it to factory settings- it is completely unresponsive. On 6/22 is synced and seemed fine, but started having flashing screen issues and acting up- but as of the last 3 days- it is completely unresponsive and will not even charge. I have tried to clean the backing and pins as suggested on feeds, I have attempted to restart to factory settings- no response. Any advise on how to fix this?

I reached out to live chat with support- and got down to position # 1 on the list- then it sent be back to the beginning application page to set up a chat. Please advise.

This is a software issue IMO.  They are supposed to get back to me as well.   I tried everything!   I am not happy.

Same issue for me.  Versa 2 turned off and won't take a charge or turn back on as of a few days ago.  Any resolutions??

Best Answer

Nope. The versa then completely died even on full charge.  All I got from Fitbit was a lame 35% off on another fitbit.  I've only had the watch for 2 years.  I'm looking into another brand.

Hi everyone!

Thank you for sharing your experience and troubleshooting. If your Versa 2 display is unresponsive, try restarting it by doing the following:

  • Press and hold the button for 10 seconds until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen, and then release the button.
  • For more information please see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the issue persists, please get in touch with our Support team.

Hope this helps!

It is nice of you to reply after months.  Fit Bit I will never buy your product again.  There are complaints all over about this issue.  What you suggested we all did or tried months ago.  I threw 2 Fit Bits away.  I will stick with Apple.

It feels like you are out of touch with either your product or your customers or perhaps both. Those simplistic steps don’t work with the issue most people are facing. And your suggestion to me that you’d give me some sort of discount on a new Fitbit instead of replacing the one that went out is also out of touch.

Providing new Fitbit replacements would have been the customer friendly thing to do ……even when some of these are “out of warranty”.

That is a horrible answer.  You simply told us how to turn it on.  🙄

I'm about done with mine.  This is the 3rd one I've had in less than 5 years.  They don't last for sh*t.

So...If your Versa 2 is out of warranty and you've gone through all the troubleshooting with Fitbit to no avail, like I did, you can try what I did, since I was ready to pitch it.. Before reading that the little hole on the side is for the microphone and you should stick nothing in it, I pushed around in there with a pin for quite a while thinking it may reset. But no, nothing happened. So I decided to save the bands before tossing it and as I removed the first band, it came back to life and showed the battery was still at 88%! It synced right up and now, after several days of getting no response from it (on or off the charger) it's working fine. Makes absolutely no sense, I know. And maybe it's a pure coincidence it came back when it did, but if you've given up as I had, you might give it a try. I would be very surprised if it worked, but please let me know if it does.

Well would you believe that since I posted this originally I’ve had to buy another TWO!!
I will however give your suggestion a shot. Thanks for the info 🙂

So....after about 4 hours of working, my Versa 2 quit briefly then started for a few minutes then went out again. I tried the crazy hack I used before but, as I guessed, it did not work. So having nothing to lose, I started knocking it onto a hard rubber surface. Just a hard tap at first, then eventually slamming it and letting Fitbit know how I felt about them. It did actually pop on for a few seconds but then back off. Must be an internal short with the battery maybe? Anyway, now it IS heading into the trash.

Hi everyone, and welcome to our new members.

Thanks for your continued reports, as well as the time taken in troubleshooting your watches. To prevent any confusion, I'm going to close this thread from further comments. If your Versa 2 is still not charging, make sure to exhaust the troubleshooting described here and keep an eye on its behavior.

We appreciate your feedback and please know we'll continue working to improve our devices, services and the overall Fitbit experience.
