Hi @Getfitmum24 - receiving messages does not normally need a firmware update - can you post which firmware you have on the watch in Settings, About and near the top.
The not receiving of messages is more likely a Fitbit App configuration issue.
To make it work best, in case there are some problems now, please restart both the phone and the watch and sync.

@Getfitmum24 - that is already the latest firmware.
After restarting your phone and watch, is it at least syncing?
If at some point the Fitbit App was reinstalled it will be necessary to redo notifications.
See How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
Failing that contact Fitbit support, it may be an app issue.

@Getfitmum24 - thanks for the photos.
It looks like all is in order. The green line is only an indication of successful syncing.
However the firmware update message is odd.
See What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?
Have a look in the watch Settings, About, for what the watch thinks is the firmware version installed.

@Getfitmum24- if the watch also thinks the firmware is the same, it may be a glitch in the Fitbit App, in which case, clear the Fitbit App storage cache and force stop the Fitbit App and see if that helps. In the latest Android press and hold the app launch icon, click app info.
