Versa 2 wristband damaged and steps recorded while not in use.

Hi.

I had a fall a few days ago and have broken my non dominant wrist. I popped the band out of it's place in the accident and haven't been able to wear my versa 2 since.

I have a couple of questions...

  • Firstly, my versa 2 has been calculating steps while I haven't even been wearing it, calculating nearly 400 steps already this morning...
  • Secondly, where can I get my band fixed or buy a new band? I'm not really sure but I think there was a metal pin that isn't there anymore.
  • Thirdly, when I do get my versa 2 fixed, is it possible to wear it on my dominant wrist as my non dominant wrist is in plaster for a while.

Any help or input is greatly appreciated. Thankyou 😊

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Janie84.

I'm sorry to hear about your fall. I hope you get recovered soon.

  • If your Fitbit Versa 2 was placed on a surface near an electrical appliance that issues vibrations, your watch might have recorded those vibrations as steps. I would recommend putting your watch in a different place and see if the issue gets resolved. If necessary, you can negate the extra data by following the instructions in this article in the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".

  • Currently, there are no reparation centers to fix damaged Fitbit products. You can purchase replacement bands as well as other accessories in the Fitbit Store.

  • You can definitely wear your watch on your dominant wrist. Please make sure you change the setting in your Fitbit account. You can find this setting by going to the online Dashboard at fitbit.com > click the gear icon in the upper right corner > click your device image > Wrist.

See you around.
