The Versa 3 Controls that control the Calls and Input Device settings from the phone's Bluetooth settings continually disconnects.
Here's what's happening & what I've been doing.
I'm on a Samsung Galaxy s10 phone.
The Versa 3 was added to the app and the Versa 3 Controls were working but when I got a call it didn't come through to the watch after the first day. So when I went into the phone's Bluetooth setting & found the Versa 3 Controls were paired but didn't show "connected". However the app and watch synced fine.
So I forgot the Versa 3 Controls and disconnected it in the Bluetooth settings in the watch. I then re-paired the watch with the phone and the Versa 3 Controls showed "connected for calls" again.
However after a certain amount of time this disappears and the watch doesn't take on wrist calls anymore. However, the watch & Fitbit app sync just fine.
So I go into the Fitbit app, click the "On Wrist Calls" button then back into the Bluetooth settings of the phone and it shows "connected for calls" again in the Versa 3 Controls. Then, again, after a certain time, it disconnects.
Round & round it goes, but after about 2 more times it just doesn't work doing that anymore and I have to completely forget the Versa 3 Controls in the Bluetooth settings and re-pair it again. Then it disconnects & I start the process all over again. Meanwhile, this whole time the watch syncs just fine with the app. It just doesn't take the on wrist calls.
The watch is 3 days old.
I've also removed the watch from the app & re-installed it. That didn't help either.
Any ideas?

Hi. I have tried tried disconnecting blue tooth connection and reconnecting, tried uninstalling and reinstalling app, reinstalling device to app, the google assistant successfully starts a call and responds through mic on watch but when call starts it is through mic and speaker on phone.
I can't seem to figure out why it won't let me use the Fitbit versa 3 mic and speaker for the call?
Please can anyone help? Rich you seem to be offering a lot of advice. Do you have any suggestions please? 🙏🏽

Update: I have managed to receive a call through the watch mic and speaker. Hoorah!
BUT I can not make an outgoing call using mic and speaker on watch. Still uses mic and speaker on phone. Arrrrrghhhhh.
Please help anyone?
I fear I'm going to have to return this watch and I don't want to. Fitbit is leaving me no choice if I don't find a solution.

Rich, this does not make sense to me! It has to be connected for calls and txts to come through and If it does not stay connected how does this work?
My problems all started when I got an iPhone. Thinking I need to go back to my android!!

@JLME Apple blocks all third party apps from responding to texts. You should still be able to read the first 100+ charectors of a text.
For me, the watch, and controls, never show in Bluetooth as connected. But I still get the messages.
As a trusted device, the connection should be accepted when requested.

Answer you provided leads me to believe FitBit Wrist Call answering is just a sales pitch for when you are actually connected to Versa3 Controls. I say this because it will not receive calls or notifications unless it is connected through controls. What you are also telling me is I should have gotten an IWatch to pair with my IPhone.

My IPhone shows it connects/disconnects. I have IIS 15.6. Which is the latest and my Versa3 is up to date with the latest version also. It never receives calls. It occasionally receives notifications but usually does not. 🍺

I hear you. They are getting ready to release Versa 4. In the description it states answer calls on your wrist, send callers to voicemail, & adjust volume when your I phone is close. (Coming soon)
looks like they are still having the same issues.

i fixed my issue go to
-under settings
-vibration &audio
-scroll down right after music controls and on wrist calls is the versa 3 controls. toggle it off. mine has to be set to off to take texts and calls and doesnt affect me operating music etc from watch so think its programed backwards on some watched so try it with it toggled off.

When I go into the phone app and send a test call it goes to the watch, but if I try to answer it from the watch I get a "something is wrong with your connection" message. Is that normal and if so why? That is extremely confusing because ALL Bluetooth settings show connected in Versa 3 and Versa 3 Controls except for calls and I can't manually turn it on. Not sure what's going on. Kinda odd if you ask me. Can't always get messages or notifications.

Same here. My Versa 3 worked fine till the last firmware update. It's never been the same since. I have gone thru all the steps several times, rebooted, Uninstaller, reinstalled, etc., and talked to customer service and had them walk me through. Still doesn't work as it should. I'm about ready to go to a Samsung Watch and be done with this Fitbit Versa 3. It's aggravating.
