Versa 3 GPS distance is not accurate

The gps tracking on my Versa 3 is inaccurate and I’d like to know if Fitbit is going to fix the problem. I’ve read other posts about the same problem and have now seen 1 straight answer. I’m not talking about stride length or running on the treadmill. When I run and use the gps the distance at the end is never what it should be. I can look at the map of my run and it shows exactly where I’ve been, but whatever is calculating the distance is wrong. Whether I’m running a 5k, 10k, 10 miler or a full marathon the distance is never, never, correct. This is extremely frustrating for anyone training. Can it be fixed, will it be fixed?

Hi there, @Robinson215. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 3. I understand where your concern is coming from and how you must be feeling.

Note that if you're in a new location farther away from where you normally walk, it may take a few minutes to connect.

With that being said, I'd like to know if you've recently changed your normally location? How long do you wait for the GPS signal to connect? If you've noticed it's less than 5 minutes, please let your watch try to connect for at least 5 minutes before cancelling the exercise. Your Versa 3 will continue to try connecting and you can go about your walk.

Also, please make sure your Versa 3 meets the requirements for connecting to GPS. For more information, see Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device?

Moreover, please be advised that environmental factors, including tall buildings, dense forest, steep hills, and thick cloud cover, can interfere with your device’s ability to connect to GPS satellites. If the signal is blocked—either because you're indoors, underground, or due to another reason—GPS won't work.

Hope this helps.

Maria,

Your answer has absolutely no relevance or substance pertaining to my concern. I can connect gps every time I want to walk or run, and I have not moved my location. My concern is that the connected gps is inaccurate. I understand you’ve got a script you must follow but it simply doesn’t answer my question. Is there going to be an update to fix the BROKEN gps feature on the Versa 3.
