Does anyone know of any surfing apps available for the Versa 3? And how I can track surfing through ‘Exercise’? Thanks.

Currently the best option is workout @CGT-Aus
But I would be more concerned about the pressures that the tracker will be subjected to. The tracker is not designed to be subjected to forces of water like these.

There are also other options that do have dedicated surfing apps.

As much if not less pressure than swimming. Surfing is a key activity and not found anywhere on the Fitbit stage as far as I can see. Also GPS monitoring of sea kayaking would be useful.

Surfing, with the waves pounding, and the wearer being thrown into the sea at high speed. This would most likely be greater then swimming.

International standards for a 5 ATM rating says not for diving.
No I don't surf, but then on the east coast, the waves are not much more than ripples.
I also had a friend, that while surfing in Hawaii got hit in the head by a surf board, hard enough to break his neck.

5 ATM is 50 m depth !
I need to return my Fitbit if it can't handle simple surfing

I just purchased the Verse 3 because Costco said it works with Strava, which I know can track waves but reading the forum it looks like it will not work. Now I wish I bought and apple watch.

Yes, it goes by pressure in a completely still water when in a controlled invironment the pressure is increased very slowly. ( you can find you tube videos of how these tests are done) In the real world it is a totally different story.
Most people don't feel the 14.7 pounds per square inch of the atmosphere.
5 ATM = 70 lbs.
How fast does a surfer go over the water? How much weight do you think a 180 lb person hitting the water can exert on a watch.

Thank you for sharing! I didn't know that an app allows you to track your surfing activity. I have always wanted to see statistics of how much I am surfing and how many calories I have burnt. Surfing is a good sport for maintaining a good-looking body. I learned to surf one year ago at swellsurfcamp.com , and I have noticed some changes in my body since I started to surf. First of all, my stamina increased considerably because I have noticed that I can run and exercise more without losing my breath.

I have been surfing with mine 3-4 times a week for 18 months and it is 100% fine!

The hiking works the best for tracking. It shows a map where you were and miles, heart rate, etc. Bottom line, there should be an app for surfing.

I wore mine just swimming in a lake & it hasn’t worked correctly since then. Supposedly water resistant but not in every case
