Hi,

I’ve noticed that my Versa 3 has started registering lots of walks that I’m not doing.
I’ve attached a couple of screenshots from today. Today I woke up at 8:30am, yet the Fitbit has registered walks while I was sleeping. Also, I didn’t go out for any walks today but it has registered walks anyway.
I’ve tried restarting the app and the Fitbit a few times, and I’ve logged out of my Fitbit account and back in, but no change.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hi @BexAnn - did you try with the watch display on holding the watch button for 10 seconds till the display blanks or it vibrates, release and wait for the logo to appear and it to start.

This may clear the problem but also check what long button press is set to in case you are accidentally starting an exercise. And at night it is a good idea to set a scheduled watch Sleep mode.

Hi Guy,

Thanks for your quick reply.

I followed all your advice and it didn’t register any exercise while I was sleeping this time, but it’s still registering lots of walks through the day. Also, I went for a swim today, which it used to recognise automatically, but it doesn’t anymore. It hasn’t registered that as exercise, only zone minutes. How can I stop it from registering so many walking exercises through the day? I’ll attach screenshots from after I followed your advice.

Thanks!

@BexAnn- what you can try is turning off Walk auto recognition in the Exercise tile in the Fitbit App.

Click on it and the 3 dots or gear icon and check the activity settings, turn off walk auto recognition and increase the time to 99 and turn on swim [if not on] and see how that goes. It might just have an effect.

@BexAnn- your watch is behaving strangely and if the suggestion doesn't help, it may have a fault or may need a factory reset which itself isn't without risk as it may fail or you may not be able to set it up again.

However there you can also try Logout of the Fitbit App and swipe off the active window and in Android clear the storage cache and force stop it and then restart the phone a d watch again, as it may be a fault in the Fitbit App.

Login again and sync.

@BexAnn- lastly in the Fitbit App, Device page, make sure your phone is not also a connected device on your Fitbit account.

Thank you so much for all your help, it’s greatly appreciated!

I followed the steps you gave me, but it didn’t change anything. However, I’ve realised that the watch face I chose a couple of weeks ago was causing the issue. I’ve changed back to my previous watch face and it’s working as normal! Happy days!

Thank you and all the best.
