Versa 3 battery is draining overnight

My Versa 3 has a ridiculously short battery life.
It doesn't last a full day, if it's at 100% when I go to bed, 7hrs later its down to about 30% (I wear it in bed for sleep monitoring).

If I fully charge it in the morning, it only takes about 20mins to reach full from 30%.

Today I forgot to charge it in the morning and it was completely flat by 1030am (being at 100% at 9:30pm the night before.

It only takes about 45mins to full, so I'm thinking the battery is faulty as it should take two hours from 0% to full.

I have read other posts on the subject and carried out all of the suggestions from performing restore factory settings, removing apps, etc... none of them have made a difference.

It's less than a year old, I bought it frm Costco here in the UK.

Hi there, @RobCompton. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling and where your concern is coming from.

Are you using Snore Detection? If so, please note that the Snore Detection feature does impact your device’s battery, so we recommend charging your device to at least 40% before going to bed. For more information, see How can I use my Fitbit device to detect snoring and noise levels while I sleep?

As you already know, that the battery life will depend on how frequent certain features are used in general. Because you're using an Always-On Display clock face, I'd recommend changing the clock face to another one made by Fitbit and monitor your it's behavior in the next day. Additionally, try turning off this setting by opening the Settings app on your watch > Display > Always-on display.

Hope this helps.

Hi Maria,

Thanks for the rapid response, no I'm not using snore detection, and the screen is not always on. I only use Fitbit clock faces, I'm using the analogue face, as I have done from day one. I have set the display to dim.

It looks to me like the battery is faulty as it shouldn't charge to 100% in 45mins, even from a USB3 2A source.

I bought it on Saturday 4th September 2021.

Kind Regards

Rob.

Hi @RobCompton  - for info it only takes a little over an hour to fully charge a Versa 3 and only draws about 300ma. It is true the last 5% can take around 20 minutes, before that it charges at about 2% per minute.

You obviously didn't read my last post. Support had a look at my Versa3 remotely and have decided that it does indeed have an issue.

Bottom line is mine didn't last a day on a "full charge", and would only take 45mins or thereabouts to go from zero to 100%. Everything is turned off or to the settings suggested by customer support.

I'll not go into battery charging theory as it's too complicated for the average user.
