Versa 3 - can't unlock pin

Since this issue started the Versa screen is usually blank but if I hold/release the button it either shows the Fitbit icon or the PIN screen (nothing happens when I enter PIN). There are various vibrations and I have tried following the factory reset advice too. Whilst trying to sort this issue before I have unpaired the Versa from phone. I tried to set this up again but it asks me to enter a code from my Fitbit but I can't access the code due to either blank screen, PIN screen that doesn't work or icon screen. Tried getting help from the chat recently and the guy asked me to download a clock face but that got stuck in the process and wouldn't let me cancel. Losing the will to live so please help. Not even sure how this issue began - one day it just happened!
