Versa 3 has life of its own

The screen to my Versa 3 has not been responsive to my touch, but would randomly decide that I wanted to change the clock screen. Did a restart this evening following a search on what to do and the screen randomly started changing all on its own, e.g opening up the weather App, including sr ding messages to open the App to my phone). Tried another restart & no change. Currently put it to charge as only thing stopping it from going nuts. Watch was purchased in June 2021 so out of warranty (bought to replace a much loved Ionic whose screen went after around 3yrs so not holding out much hope here). Anyone else experienced this?

Hi @Paeonia - the watch may have a corrupted OS or plain have a fault, so some things to try a step at a time to see if there is an improvement.

  • Make sure the watch is cleaned.
  • Turn off the phone's Bluetooth and see if the behaviour stops.
  • Turn on Bluetooth and sync the watch with the Fitbit App, then run "Set up a Device", select it and replace.
  • Change the clock face.
  • Shutdown the watch from the watch Settings menu, wait 10 seconds before restarting it.
  • Do a factory reset. But beware if you are on an  Android phone you may not be able to set it up again from scratch.

Thank you for your reply. After a charge & restart it seemed to be working fine. Sadly it switched completely off whilst at gym last night (inc a swim), although restarted when I plugged it into charge (showed 93%) after getting home, and all seemed good. This morning woke with it off again and putting on charge briefly showed 0% battery and then nothing. Looked at back of watch & moisture showing at charge points. In jar of rice now 🫣 but I think it’s RIP. Not sure what happened but going to be my last Fitbit. Been a great 7years but too short a time to go through 2 watches (Ionic & Versa 3).
